The area surrounding Akaka Falls has been made into a park with many varieties of tropical flowers and plants. Take the winding paved path through the park (about a 20 minute walk) of which the 400 plus foot falls is a highlight. Akaka Falls is less than 4 miles off the main highway and worth the detour.
